Chapter Four: Into The Shadows

Michael had felt the air change and become still; as he felt at peace. He looked around in awe realizing he was now in a beautiful forest, but it was somehow very different then anything or anywhere he had ever been before as there was no sun only a beautiful sky filled with stars. He then looked for Prince Ethan and his father but they were no where to be seen, then he noticed a being made of light; though the light was too strong to make out what it was or what it looked like.

The being of light then seemed to look at him as it spoke “Hello Michael, it is good to see you. Your people call me Sol, I am one of the old ones. I created what you refer to as peace and serenity as well as many of the things that bring your people happiness and fulfillment in life. I know you have many questions for me and I am here to answer them.”

Michael tried to identify the being as he said “Am I dead? I didn’t think that man was able to come to the Realm of the Old Ones.”

The being radiated light as it spoke “You are not dead young one, but instead I merely intercepted you from where you were headed and brought you to my realm. When you opened the portal to the Realm of Shadows, I knew I’d be able to bring you here; as no man could do such a thing. You are not human, in fact, you’re something else entirely, and that means the great war will soon rage across your land. I fear our hubris in recent times as lead to this and for that I am sorry. But, there is hope and that is why I truly brought you here. You need to stop giving into hate and fear, they will lead you to becoming a pawn that will be used in the war to come; instead use powerful positive emotions to fuel; emotions such as love and joy.”

Michael’s eyes strained as he looked at the being of light “What do you mean? What am I?”

The being of light gasped for a moment and then said “He has sensed your presence here. I haven’t much time to speak to you now. Here me now, you have the ability to either help bring peace or help ensure Armageddon occurs. My brother has betrayed me, he’s betrayed us all; you are the last hope the world has. I sense that there’s another who can aid you in preventing the end of peace but you must act soon; or else all is lost. I wish I could explain more but you must go now.” The being then begins to fade away as the area around them starts to fade into shadows.

Michael looked toward the being pleading to it “Please, tell me more. Don’t go! I can sense it to now, a great tragedy lies ahead and I don’t know how to stop it, I don’t know what to do.
